Collection: Murugan

The Radiant Warrior of the South. Born of Fire. Forged in Brass.

Lord Kartikeya, widely known as Murugan, Skanda, or Subramanya in South India, is the divine son of Shiva and Parvati, the commander of the celestial armies, and a beloved deity of valor, wisdom, and youthful energy.

According to sacred legends, when the demon Tarakasura became invincible and terrorized the heavens, the gods sought Shiva’s help. From Shiva’s third eye emerged a blazing spark, which was carried by the river Ganga and nurtured by the Krittikas (six celestial mothers). This spark became the radiant child Skanda — the god born to destroy darkness.

He grew swiftly into a fierce warrior, and with his divine spear (Vel), vanquished Tarakasura, restoring peace to the universe. His mount, the peacock, symbolizes the destruction of ego and pride.

In brass, Murugan's form takes on a grounding and timeless presence. The gleam of brass reflects his inner fire and unshakable focus. A brass Murugan idol often shows him standing tall with his Vel in hand, radiating protection, discipline, and divine strength — ideal for pooja rooms, altars, or South Indian homes devoted to tradition.
